GRAPHIC PRESENTATION OF ARCHITECTURAL PROJECTS

Throughout my Architecture studies (BSc and MSc) at TU Graz, I developed my own language within architectural graphics, encompassing plans, maps, 3D visualizations, 2D visualizations, axonometries, icons, and conceptual graphics. Scroll down to see three different examples and their visual translations!

SINDELFINGER
LOOPS

URBAN PLANNING MEETS TIMBER CONSTRUTION

„SINDELFINGER LOOPS“ was a university project focusing on urban planning and timber construction within the territory of an old hospital in Sindelfingen. A key aspect of the urban concept was to elevate the typical ground-level room program onto loops at different heights, connecting various public buildings. This approach allowed the ground level to remain free of soil sealing, providing space for a large forest instead.

The color pattern in the graphics helped visualize different aspects of the concept, such as the themes of the loops and the usage of different buildings.

CASA VERITÁ

RESIDENTIAL BUILDING

Casa Veritá” was a university project aimed at reimagining the design process of a residential building in the Austrian city of Graz. Each week, we focused on a specific topic such as garden, balcony, foyer, roof, stairs, common room, private rooms, and facade, without prematurely concerning ourselves with the overall structure.

This approach resulted in unique concepts and encouraged us to consider the details in our design, which is also evident in the graphic representations.

COMMUNAL BUILDING

ANTANZEN

“ANTANZEN [ Tanztreff an der Postpassage ] or „Waltz in [ dance meeting point at the postarcade ] was the project for my master thesis. What it is about? “Dance in Graz is still a neglected topic. Dance as an important cultural contribution deserves and needs more support in Austria and especially in the Styrian capital. The longed-for center for dance should be the core of this work. The creation of a meeting place that revolves around the discipline and covers all conceivable aspects. The guiding theme of "supporting culture" runs through the design. Furthermore, an existing resource is used for the creation of the new cultural venue. Dreihackengasse 42, known as the Postgarage and labeled as a club in the minds of the city's residents, was chosen for this purpose. An existing building whose beauty and potential had long been forgotten. The original building lays the foundation for the design and interacts with the new structures. The aim is to make the hidden visible again and emphasize it, to integrate the new and draw inspiration from the existing. A true dance duet of old and new. The cultural contribution is intended to encourage the Graz dance scene, the city of Graz and the district of Gries. The basic chapter begins with an analysis of existing structures relating to dance in Graz and justifies the need for a new or rather first dance venue of this form. In the following the roots of the existing building structures are explored in order to create a basis for the design. In the next step, a proposal for a possible design is developed and formulated. All aspects relating to the theme of dance, as well as the handling of the existing building and its integration into the urban structure, are taken into account. As an excursus, the work also deals with the topic of arcades, which is a formative design element in the draft and makes a significant contribution to the overall concept. “
